As i´ve been doing my forearm workouts over the past i realized that my right forearm is a bit stronger/better conditioned than my left. So i was asking myself what effect it would have on my grip -> swing if there would be a really big imbalance between a very strong right and very weak left hand.

Any ideas?

I think it is normal for one side to be a bit stronger than the other. If it is weaker by a huge amount (10% or more) I would do some isolation training with that hand, forearm, leg etc. to balance that deficit.

Under a perfect swing, I'd say no. Your arms are supposed to be passive anyway so the strength compared to right to left shouldn't matter. However if your right arm is stronger and causes you to grip the club tighter, I can see two possible flaws. If you have a tendency to flip your wrists, you'll probably be more prone to hooks. If you have issues rolling your wrists, you'll probably hit more slices since the stronger right arm keeps the face from turning over. Make sense? Btw, this is all just a guess.

I noticed the same thing on myself. I'm right handed, and my left forearm as well as bicep is bigger than my left. I'm not sure if it affects the swing, but now I'm curious. Bump For some really technical answer ha.

not much of an effect - just make sure you dont over tense your muscles on the swing.

    • I really do find the masters stuffed shirts to be insufferable. Or is it instufferable?
    • I'm hearing this morning that Robert MacIntyre may be facing some sort of discipline (probably a stern warning) for the finger incident on 15 yesterday.  It dawns on me his upbringing would have been during Tiger's prime years -- he's 29 now, and would have been in elementary school in the early 21st century.  Someone should tell him that the swearing wasn't what made Tiger great at golf.   Or John Daly (or Don January?) or whoever else we associate with both being good at golf and producing choice words on television.
