Some pretty funny stuff, like surfer Kelly Slater hitting from the beach, George and Bill up to their usual tricks, and Peyton hitting a drop and stop to 6" from the pin.

But my favorite is Lynn Swann who makes a beautiful stroke on a 30ft putt that has to travel 50 feet because of 20 feet of break. It starts off, turns towards the hole, starts to get close, and as it goes in Swann unconsciously throws his putter up into the air in celebration and the putter travels out of the picture.

Now the rest of the world, upon coming to the realization that a putter was accelerating at 32ft/sec towards their head, would dive for cover or make some half-hearted attempt to fend it off. However, this is Lynn Swann. And when he firmly snatches that putter out of the air, it's like he's catching an arrow in mid-flight and you understand that this is a special athlete.

I can't remember who it was, but somebody made an insane shot on one par 5. Down in the thick, thick, thick rough. Hacked it out on the green, and spun it back to about 5 feet. Than to top it off, he made the birdie putt.

It was Greg Kinnear. Awkward putting style, but he drained it.

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
