I went for a pre season lesson the other evening and as we started the pro asked me what the problem was. I told him basically I had started to block some iron shots and my confidence was starting to dwindle.
I lined up with my 8 iron, told him I was aiming for the 150 yrd post on the range and hit the ball, clunk !!! , ball dropped right on top of the post Tiger style, laughted it off and lined another one up, clunk !!! hit post with second shot. !!! The pro turns and asked tounge in cheek me for a lesson LMAO. 10 shots later he was able to witness my block, slice, pull, hooks one after the other and gave me plenty to work on.
Any one else manage to repeat seemingly impossible shots?

If by 'seemingly impossible shots' you mean shots that land on the course, yes - sometimes I hit 3-4 in a row that find part of the actual course real estate.

That happened to me once a long time ago when I went for some lessons. I had a decent game, but I wanted to rebuild my swing, so to speak.

The pro took a 5 iron out of my bag, handed it to me, and asked me to hit a couple. After hitting two perfect laser like 5 irons, he said to me "what exactly to want me to fix?" of course he quickly found out that those weren't the norm.

Cheers, Allan

Last year I was playing with a friend and hit my drive... it was a pretty good drive, because the field was kind of empty and at the range I was practicing shot shaping, I told him I will try to hit a draw with my driver, I swing at the ball, I nice draw that came up exactly at the same distance of the previous drive, about a ball apart.... accuracy with my driver is not the best part of my game so I was quite amazed, I don't think I will be able to reproduce that ever.

In a PGA Tour Superstore, I went to the chipping green where there are 3 flags but the flags were gone and just left shallow holes. 4 times in a row, I chipped and bounced a ball from one hole to the next for all 3 holes.
I ended up laughing my head off, as well as the guy next to me.

well, during last summer, i went for a chipping lesson and my pro told me to do my normal chip swing, and the first ball i hit went in the hole. He litteraly got into his cart and drove to back to the clubhouse. I am pretty good friends with my pro, and we both knew he was kidding... but that was the single funniest thing besides someone getiing hit in the head with their own flopshot that i have ever seen on a golfcourse

    • For me it was combo of good drama and total last man standing collapse... But it showed me once again that "ball rollback" is nonsense...when courses are set up to punish missed fairways and greens, that's where the quality golf (or total collapse) takes place...hurting the rest of us because a relatively few can bomb it 100 yards farther is idiotic...that Young bomb on 18 was gutsy... He misses the fairway with that he likely doesn't win, at least on that hole...
    • Followed by the longest drive on 18 in the shotlink era. That is a tough shot and he stood up there and did it. Fair play to him.
