My fitting experience.

Height is too general to assume you need standard length or longer. You have to consider your arm length. I am 6'2" but playing standard, but for exact, I am more fitted with 1/4" shorter. Check your lengths and compare.

I have fairly long arms as I remember having more reach than many when I was boxing, but I am at the very least average and not below which is what confused me. I guess there is just more to it than that. Thanks

The more I think about my fitting, the more disappointed I get. I paid the money to get the fitting done and the guy really took his time and knew what he was doing. But I still know nothing about what I need done. I don't know what iron shafts I need, whether my irons need to be flat, upright, longer, etc...When I ask him for information on this, he tells me that it is a trade secret and he can't give me that info. WTF? So basically he is the only one that can fit my clubs because he is the only one that has the info and he wants too much money to do it. I feel like I wasted the money and all I walked away with was knowing what my swing speed is. I went to a fitter that didn't do a good job and a fitter that did a good job but won't give me the info I need to get the clubs fit. This guy is a member of the AGCP too. Not to mention that I drove 2 hours to get to his shop.

I am starting to become a firm believer that fittings are a waste of time and money. Maybe this is the way that fittings go but I was under the impression that when I went to a fitting I would come out knowing what shafts I need, what my lie angle should be, what the length should be, etc....

That doesn't sound right! My fitter told me everything that I needed to know straight off the bat without me even having to ask (that was one of the major reasons why I bought from them, they'd earned my trust). If you've paid for the fitters time I think that information is as much yours as theirs, if the fitting was free however, maybe I could see where the fitter is coming from.

The fitting was FAR from free! He says that since he is using the TLT, that the length and lie angle are trade secrets and he can't tell me what it needs to be. I understand that if you are using the TLT that there are maybe some things you can't tell me, but tell me what they should be without using the TLT! You know what I mean? Just give me basic lie angle, etc...and I'll be happy. I am getting really frustrated!

I'd go somewhere else then! Find someone you can trust. Just a shame that you've wasted all that time and money.

I am going to ask for the money back or at least a portion if he can't give me the info that I need. As far as finding someone I trust, I don't see how I can do that, really. I don't personally know of anyone that does club fitting and this makes twice that I have gotten screwed on a fitting. I am afraid to go anywhere else and get screwed again.
