Few questions.

1. It snapped about 1/4" above the hosel, can I use a graphite extension piece and use my shaft?

2. How do I go about removing the small end piece from the hosel of a 2003 Great Big Bertha II?

3. Is it worth reshafting or should I just move on?

I've only owned it 2 seasons, and am finally dialing it in when all of a sudden it gave out. It was just a normal hit, ball had a nice carry with a bit of fade, normal for me. I looked over and the club head was laying in the empty stall to my left. Maybe it was just it's time. It didn't hit the shaft, that's whats strange.

I would just move on. To fix it will cost as much as buying the club on ebay.

If you want to fix it... buy a graphite design aura shaft... It will cost no more than 50 bucks and they are great inexpensive shafts.

I would still use it only as a backup driver though.

if u dont want to change to another club, reshafting would be a cheap alternative. you can get a good shaft for you for under $100

well... that particular callaway is a bore-through design, so if you just hacked it off you'd wind up with a baseball bat... plus, you really shouldn't extend a club more than 1/2" I have to be honest, I've done that for a few of my customers and they seem to be happy, but I wouldn't put the effort into it... you can find a used driver with a quality shaft for under 100 at almost any golf galaxy nowadays, and that driver will probably only be a year or two old.
