Over the years my best two mallets have both been Odyssey (black insert) putters.

The Rossie II and the 2-ball. Both of them were short putters (for me) and had oversized grips that quieted my hands and wrists.

I've left my Olivia at 35" and put the heaviest tungsten weights in it and added an oversized Tigershark grip. It does okay but lacks the feel of some other mallets I've tried.

Curious as to what has what your faves were.

An old Zebra.

It's face balanced and suits my straight back and through putting stroke. It also just sets up well for me and I roll the ball well with it. It comes out when Scotty needs a time-out!

Without a doubt my favorite mallet putter is the Odyssey 2-Ball (in fact, it's my favorite putter all-time, bar none). I previosly owned a White Hot 2-Ball and loved it, but due to a moment of stupidity I replaced it with a 3-Ball. I played that for about a year with varying levels of success before picking up a Scotty Cameron Futura Phantom used (I got it really cheap) because I liked the alignment aid. That putter helped me correct a flaw in my stroked, but just never quite felt right in my hands, so I Finally broke down and got a new Odyssey White Hot XG 2-Ball. I have found I like a mallet much better than a blade. And because I use a more square putting stroke, I have found I prefer a center-shafted putter. I am definately much more consistent with a center-shafted putter (all of my previous 4 putters have been center-shafted except the 3-ball).

Short & sweet.

NJ: 37" Rife Barbados
FL: 37: Ping Crazee

Been using 37" for 3 years (bad back). Been exercising since January and strengthening core.

2 weeks ago ordered 34" Scotty Kombi and have started to choke down on the other 2 putters. Played (NJ) last Sat. and am having the Rife re-shafted with 34" and will have the Ping re-shafted in 3 weeks when in FL.

Odyssey White Hot Tour Rossie Putter. That thing set up beautifully. The shaft angle was perfect for me and the head weight too. It's too bad I went to Taylormade, cause that thing was heaven.

I have tried a zebra mallet and a goolie golf mallet and both were okay. My favorite is the one I am currently using. Im currently using a macgregor fat lady swings by bobby grace with a superstroke grip. Im excited to get it out on the course soon (yay 80* weather).

An old Zebra.

My Olivia sets up very, very simular to the old Zebra putters. The feel isn't quite as solid but it's not bad at all. My father's first putter was a Zebra. He used it well. I'll bet he regrets not hanging on to it. Those things were a breeze to align.

I like the Hamilton HM-4 mallet putter you see on Golf Channel.

I bought a prototype and really like the feel and the way it
rolls the ball. The insert is a little hard, but with a soft feel
ball it is okay.

My two favorites are the Odyssey Sabertooth and the Scotty Cameron Futura. Laugh at the Futura if you want, but if you've ever hit one, the sound is unique and it always goes on the line you want.

The scotty in my bag I don't know whether it would classify as a mallet (Golf Digest grouped it with blades oddly enough), but it is definitely my all time fave. Odyssey Black Series #3 gets an honorable mention, even though I only demo'd it.

Odyssey 2-ball was a sweet putter, but I wanted a blade instead, so I went with an original Anser.

I was actually looking to try a Futura in the near future.

You know, I was taken aback by the sheer size of the Futura, but the thing has a very unique sound and a very easy take away. When I would travel with my clubs, I had to take the Future out because i was afraid it would get damaged from the travel. I still have it in the garage and I like to mess with it every once in a while. After the Futura came the Phantom, but I think SC came out with the Phantom because people bitched about how obnoxious the Futura was.

Listen, I don't care what the damn thing looks like, if it's going to help me sink a few more putts per round, then I'm all for it. I think they call me a sucker too.
