Hello,

How do I combine two 9-hole rounds played on two different courses? I need to get the round differential as an 18-hole round (9 x 2?) so I can use it for handicap purposes, right? Or do I get the differential for the two 9-hole rounds and sum them up?

Thank you,
Mike

Just submit them as two separate 9 hole scores; they'll be combined and show up on your GHIN card as a single 18 hole score. The GHIN computer thingy at your local course will take care of the slope ratings and all that, assuming the courses you played are listed in the database.

Hi, sorry I failed to mention that I am developing a golf scorecard application that will have the ability to get the player's handicap based on the rounds entered.

Thanks

I'm not a believer or combining 9 hole scores. One club did that to me. One week I shot a 35 and one week I shot a 32. Totally different conditions. They combined those and posted a 67 into my hcp record. I've only broken 70 once. That knocked my hcp way down in the club.

Handicaps are not based on conditions of the course or weather, only slope and course ratings.
If you play the whole 18 then they will be under the same conditions to turn in. But they still only use the s/r for the course.

The point is that I've never even sniffed a 67. If I did manage to shoot -5 on the front, which I've done before, I'd be so racked mentally I'd shoot +5 or more on the back. Net score 72 or higher, 5 shots higher than a 67 posted to my hcp.

    • I wonder if that is why my home course basically have no stakes now.  Not even markers.  It’s completely up to golfers to remember what is OB and hazard and how things used to be marked.     Even in tournaments, there is no marking and certain areas are played differently by different golfers who either don’t know better or use it to their advantage funny reading thru this with courses that actually have markers
    • is it though?????? "Millions of fans"?????
    • Great post, thanks for the informaiton. I try to avoid adding salt to anything I eat. I tend to add pepper on to my meals as opposed to salt. And I am trying to eat as clean on possible. On golf day, I eat 3 eggs for breakfast (pepper NO salt) and a salad for lunch, with grilled chicken thigs (pepper, garlic, no salt). I have been trying to avoid processed food, but we all slip. I also should have mentioned that the electrolyte packet calls for mixing with 16 oz of water, however I mix in 32 oz of water, so I dilute the electrolyte powder.
    • So if I read the news correctly, the PIF will not fund LIV after this season.  LIV is trying to find new funding and a number of players there are now asking about getting back to the Tour.    I am very, very concerned that Taylor Gooch will not have a place where he can make a jackass out of himself soon
    • It is a known technique, similar to the armed forces box technique. They use a 4x4 , in through the nose and out through the mouth. I use it to go to sleep fairly often. It works for me
