I finally narrowed it down to 2 putters:

Odyssey White Hot Tour #5, 34"
Mizuno Bettinardi BC3 34"

I have made numerous trips to the golf store and can't seem to make up my mind! If anyone has any experience with either of these putters please share your thoughts.

I never tried the #2 but I demoed the Odyssey #1 this weekend. Loved the soft smooth feel. I am seriously considering getting this putter. Could not believe how soft the ball felt coming off of its face.

Irons: Mizuno JPX-825 Pro 5-GW

Wedges: Mizuno MP-T4 Black Nickel 54* & 58*

I have an original Odyssey White Hot #5 if you want it... haha.

But my 2 cents is that I've played another White Hot putter for a long time, and while it might be soft, it doesn't quite give me the feedback I'd like at impact. I prefer a metal face, it really helps me groove a better stroke and helps me judge distance better. Inserts feel too "rubbery" to me sometimes.

Bettinardi all the way. Have you tried any Yes! putters? I didn't think I'd like them, but I just picked one up and they have a great soft feel to them with no insert.

I also found the White Hot putters to be too soft…however the White Hot Tours have a much more solid feel at impact. Honestly it's a coin toss.

BTW, I have a Yes! Putter and it's yours if you want it (kidding)

Haha, oops. I guess that means you didn't enjoy it as much as I like mine. I haven't tried out the White Hot Tour. The White Hot Tour isn't too expensive, but some of the other ones like the White Hot Black or something... to me it just seems like too much money to pay for an insert putter. If it gets to that price range, I'm just going to spring for a Bettinardi or a Scotty. That's just my personal preference though, which is really what putting and choosing your putter is all about.

Agreed. However (like I mentioned above) it is really a coin toss right now…I have hit both of these putters numerous times over the course of the last month and cannot decide, thus the starting of this thread. What I was hoping to achieve is how others perceive (like and dislikes, etc..) these 2 putters and any personal experiences anybody may have with them. Any info may help ID something that I am not able get hitting on a putting green indoors.

Honestly I think I'd be fine with either but have never had this tough of a time deciding on equipment before!

What about a nice used OTR Scotty Cameron?

Spend just as much, but it will retain its value.

if its a coin toss and you like them both equally I would just go with which one you could find cheapest whether its new or a decent shaped used one.

my advice to you is go to a golf shop with a nice used putter section. There are always great finds especially older ping putters that have great feel. Regardless of your choice just remember these three things when selecting a putter Feel,Roll and look at address if it fits those 3 you cant make a wrong choice.

I never really liekd the feels of the Mizuno. I felt more comfortable with Odyssey putters and my Taylormade.

Been there, done that.

Not interested in Ping or any other brand except the 2 I have mentioned. Again, my search has been long and extensive.

Yep, and the 2 I have it narrowed down to have all those qualities. Really I'm just looking for personal experiences from people that have used the Odyssey WHT #5 and Mizuno BC #3.

Good advise, I think I'm off to get the Mizuno.
