yesterday was my first round of the year (shot a 43 on 9 but thats beside the point). of the 7 driving holes on the course, i sliced my driver of 6 of them. it wasnt until the 9 hole when i finally changed my swing a bit. i lifted my chin up and bit and made a conscience effort to bring the club back "insde" and to swing on a flatter, more "inside" plane. with these changes, i hit that ball 300 yards straight as an arrow. so the results are hard to argue with. so, i was wondering, should i use this "flatter" more "inside" swing plane with my iron swing as well? or should the iron swing be a little steeper and slightly "over the top" so i hit down in the ball?

Most people use a completely different swing with their irons. I would reccoment using a shorter, steeper swing with the irons to encourage de-lofting at impact. If you slice with your irons as you did with your driver, you do need to try to come more from the inside though, and maybe close the face just a little bit at adress.

    • Day 133: 5/8/24 Extensive putting today with a LAB DF3 counterbalance putter. 38” and 70*. Putted great from short and mid-range. Misses I had were often to the right, but speed was good. I have never used a large, or extended grip in the past.
    • Day 55. Felt a bit better today hitting balls into the net working on technique. Some work on basics like flow and backswing followed by hand path exit.
    • Day 4:  I was not feeling the range or even up to swinging into the net in the garage.  So, today I just did some putting practice at home.
    • Yeah.  As far as remaining still, I was thinking body rotates around the spine like an axis.  Instead of pivoting, some like me, sway, come off that axis, leave weight on back foot, etc.
    • I apologize on behalf of… idiot men. Sorry about that. Next time, tell the guy to shut up. 😛  Day 553, May 8, 2024 18 holes from the whites with @rwolfe. Windy AF today, but hit some good shots. Slid back a little from where I was the previous two days, but… I can get it back. Made a pretty nifty birdie on 12 from some pretty odd places. 😄
