I recently tried out the new Nike One Tour D golf ball and I have to say it is the best golf ball I have ever played. It is long, forgiving, and has a great amount of spin. I have not tried the new Pro V's that Titleist is coming out with, but I don't see how the ball can be better than their last ball that they got sued for. Has anyone else played the new Nike balls?

I recently got some Victory Red split cavity irons and part of the deal was a dozen vapor balls (nike also threw in a sleeve of one tour and tour d's). I haven't played the tour or tour d yet and have only played 9 holes with the vapor (I'm still using my srixon ad333 balls). My first impressions of the vapor were that they were good but nothing really special. They felt better off the iron shots but I didn't notice a difference in distance or stopping power on the greens over my current ball (bear in mind I do rate the srixon ball very highly). In my opinion it is not worth the extra money over the srixon. Im looking forward to trying the tour/d balls now the weather is getting better.

Keep us posted on how you like the new Split Cavity irons. Those things are works of art...in my opinion.

Today's round will mark my first use of Nike balls. I put a dozen Power Distance High Launch balls in the bag as well as a sleeve of Nike One Vapor balls. I putted with both yesterday and was very surprised that the One Vapor didn't feel mushy and get "lost" at putterhead impact...there was a discernable click as it came off the face. For all practical purposes both balls felt identical with the putter. This may be a moot point for some but it has grown in importance for me...a ball has to putt just right or I don't want to game it....not too harsh....not too soft.....picky...picky...picky, I know. I'm looking forward to trying them out.

I've played with a few Vapors since they came out and it's a decent ball. Comparable with the e6+. Incidentally the Vapor played similar for me as the Nike Ignite (3 piece low spin distance ball). Made me wonder if they are replacing the Ignite with the Vapor?

Haven't tried the new, but recently I've been using One Platinum - and I love them. I found a dozen in my trunk (and I don't remember buying them??!!). I'm thinking about buying a bunch of them now that the new ones are out - the One Platinums should be cheap.

I have not tried them. Are they much different than the Platinum One or TW Accuracy? Those are the two that I have used and I love the TW Accuracy. Soft, easy to compress, great with irons and rolls nicely with the putter. Plus, the price is always right: 4 Dozen for $36.

Gamed the PD High ball today.

Balls did fine....they released a bit more on chips and short pitch shots than I was accustomed to. They held fine on full shots into greens.

The last Nike ball I played was the Nike Tour Accuracy -- TW. I used to love that ball. It would shred so easily though.

Actually I just found a half dozen Tour Accuracy -- DD's in my basement. Thought that was funny.

The Tour's are like the new platinums and I have not played the Tour's, but I played the Tour D's which are the new blacks and it is almost like they are the same ball with better wear patterns and just a better feeling ball.

    • Day 24: did a stack session. Worked a bit on downswing feels during breaks.
    • Day 444 - 2025-12-18 Light day of hotel room work. GEARS Summit v2.0 today. Good day.
    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
