Transitions Championship????

With corporate sponsorship of tournamants changing every other year, I can not keep track of what this weeks tournamant used to be.

Is the Transitions Championship the old Sammy Davis, Perry Como, Jackie Gleason or what?

I miss the good old days........

The tournament only dates back to 2000, when it was the called the Tampa Bay Classic and was held in the fall. It was known as the Chrysler Championship from 2003 to 2006, and then became the PODS Championship in 2007, when the tournament's date was moved to March.

In other words, they are transitioning between sponsors.

And before that, it was a cool co-ed tourney that paired top golfers from the PGA and LPGA. I think that ceased in '99 or so.

Just in the off chance this isn't a joke: Transitions, I believe, makes lenses for glasses that change how tinted they are based on light.

The early mixed tournament was the J.C. Penney Classic.

Today at the Transitions Tournament they had Eric Estrada (remember the CHiPS guy?) doing a promotion for Transitions. He was in his police uniform giving out "sight"-tations.

Great tournament! Plenty of leaders going into Saturday. Anything can happen.

I watched Duval today (and his troubles....missed the cut).
