I think I have trouble with too much spin rather than not enough.
Don't claim to be good enough to aim 10 feet beyond the pin from 100 odd metres to spin back. I have more problems with wedges that land near the pin and spin back too much.
Use a ball that spins less and aim for the pins is my advice on a normally set up course.

Personally no. If I can find a killer deal on some then I'll stock them and flip them back once they become harder to obtain. ;)

Besides, most 10+ handicappers don't hit the green very often to begin with, and they rarely make clean enough contact.

Thought this was about wedges. So that seems an odd thing to say, unless you were referring to irons, maybe?

I'm a higher HCer, but I sure hit a lot of greens inside PW distance. I just rack up a ton of penalty strokes with my driver. And my 3 wood, 5, 6, 7 irons could use differing degrees more consistency as the club gets longer. But my wedges are the best part of my game, especially the sand wedge (Cleveland 588 DSG) money in the bank from 95 yards to about 45.

Someone told me that we have to change for college golf for next year.
But I told him it comes into effect for us in 2014, so I'm probably going to grab a few with V grooves and see what can be done with them.

will the spin milling like on the vokeys still be aloud? that whould help gain some spin back!

Im pretty sure it wont effect my already not so great game. No, I wont stock up. I bought new Spin Milled Vokeys this year, and I imagine theyll be fine next year. But when the time comes to get new wedges, I will buy conforming clubs and learn to use them.

Besides, just because they wont be produced anymore, doesnt mean there wont be a million of them still on the market next year, and probably really cheap since they no longer conform!!!
