I have the Adams Insight in my sig for a driver. Got it from a demo sale at golftown over christmas. I noticed tonight at the range that there is a thin crackline forming in the paint at the top of the clubhead just below where the shaft connects (just below the hosel). The club is performing fine and doesn't feel like there is anything lose there yet. Is this the first sign of it breaking? I've read this driver is prone to it so if it's on it's way I might have to hold off on my fairway club purchase in case this blows up on me soon.

Thanks

I worked at a golf course last summer and at the driving range, we carried about 2 drivers that had cracks in them. There were never any complaints about them. The club champ would even try it out every now and then and his shot was never affected by the crack. I had a friend who had a crack on his driver and it made his drives even better...LOL. I'm guessing it shouldn't fail on you (depending on the spot of the crack). Hopefully it doesn't grow.

if the club isn't that old maybe you can see if Adams will replace/repair it? No harm in making a phone call to ask.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

I also recommend talking to Adams. I am using my friends old Adams A2 driver. On the 14th hole the head went flying almost as far as the ball off the tee. The hosel was still attached to the shaft and there was a clean break right where the head connects to the shaft. I was really bummed thinking I would need to replace that club as well as finally getting myself a driver.

I took it to golfsmith to see what it would cost to put a new shaft in. One of the guys thought I should try sending it in, thinking that I would get a better result from Adams replacing the shaft as well as it might be cheaper. Golfsmith covered the shipping there and back. It took three weeks but when it came back Adams had replaced the shaft, new grip and polished the head to almost new all for the very reasonable cost of FREE! I couldn't believe it no charge at all. And that was for a club I had no receipt for; it had been purchased a couple years ago by my friend. If you have Golfsmith or something similar I would take it in and ask them to look at it. If it is not cosmetic maybe you can ask them to send it in for you.

My only concern is it was bought as a demo from golftown so I don't know how far they'd cover it. I might go with the Adams route directly.
