no dude, i didnt mean that, i just mean like distance is not a big issue for me, especially when i can carry my driver 280 and can hit a 9 iron 170, u know?

come on "dude", you are a 12 handicap. have you ever played a round with a professional? have you seen the difference in ball striking between a +4 handicap and a 12 handicapper? they are WORLDS apart. have you ever even played in a club championship match? yet you're thinking about becoming a touring pro? and just because you dont have a problem with distance doesnt mean anything. when you can shoot mid-low 60's at your home course on a consistent basis, then you MIGHT have a shot on a mini tour or something. im not saying its impossible. but its pretty close (for a 20 year old 12 handicapper to become a touring professional). you would have to give up EVERYTHING and concentrate on nothing but golf, all day, every day, for a few

years for this to become even remotely possible. i know you probably dont want to hear that, but its the truth.

riiiiiiiiiiiight, still a lot longer than i have and i bet ur doing some falsification right there.

Buddy, I have gone out and played maybe 1-3 times a year since I was 12. I then began playing competitively my Sophomore year in H.S. I have a lot more experience then you have, and yes when I first began 3 years ago I wanted to go pro. I have realized it is not that easy. Therefore I am dedicating my whole summer to the game and hoping to walk-on at Illinois State next year. I wish you luck, and I have not bashed your dreams because I myself still have a grasp on mine also. All I have told you to do is practice. That is what I am going to do. This game is not something that will come easy. Go out and play today or tomorrow. You are not going see improvements in your score every time you go out and play.

GTFO Im not one to try to put a percentage or anything on what you can and cant do. I wouldnt listen to people who say dont bother and you have no chance. However, dont be a complete douche. "ur typical amateur" do you even know what a typical amateur is? Theres so many people who can hit the ball great hell even score well that dont even play well in local amateur events. You need to get your head out of your ass if you really wanna excel.

one more thing, how do you figure you are a 12 handicap? because of the 41 you shot on 9 holes on your home course?

No not just from that one round I usually play 18 and calculate my handicap from that but i just added this in and converted to 18 for the hell of it.

and yes i know how to calculate a handicap so dont say im fraudin.

This is not what you said in the intial post. You said you calculated your handicap by what you just said was a career 9 hole outing

u mad? shoot a 95 today?

Im not mad, your skill level at golf doesnt make you a better person. I wouldnt go around thinking you are better than "high handicaps" everyone was there at one time or another. And way to dodge my post because you know Im right.

a 41 (your best round ever) is NOT considered a good round

Really what is your problem?! Why do you need to be so defensive. You came here seeking help, and have received great advice. Take it, don't deny it and think that you know you are right.

    • I apologize on behalf of… idiot men. Sorry about that. Next time, tell the guy to shut up. 😛  Day 553, May 8, 2024 18 holes from the whites with @rwolfe. Windy AF today, but hit some good shots. Slid back a little from where I was the previous two days, but… I can get it back. Made a pretty nifty birdie on 12 from some pretty odd places. 😄
    • The angles look fine. Get as much light as you can on the area — you want the highest shutter speed you can get. Less blur.
    • Snap @ Tour Spoon! Birdied 11 yesterday. Hit a poor iron ,stopped on edge of bunker , pitch with my lob wedge landed about 6’ away and went in. Only 12 & 14 to go, long par5’s into the prevailing wind. Might be waiting a while although I did have about 15’ on 12 after the birdie on 11, didn’t miss by much.
    • Tested the Maxfli TourS yesterday. Compared to my former ball, the Titleist AVX, I got an extra 10 yards off the driver and half a club (5-7 yards) off the irons. The combined extra yardage from the driver and fairway wood meant that on par-5s where I usually hit an 8-iron third shot, I hit a PW. It's just a smidgen softer than the AVX and seems to spin well. Some of the reviews indicated a low ball flight, but I did not notice it. I also did not observe any problems with the paint quality, which was an issue with previous Maxfli models up to and including the U series.  My previous round I tested the Bridgestone E6, a two-piece ball with a different cover. It was OK; the same distance and feel as the AVX but with less spin.
    • Sad tale.  Both the A's and Raiders.  IMO, cities shouldn't be building stadiums for MLB/NFL teams.  But that's the world we live in.   DAY 3:  30-min range session with irons and wedges.  Working on follow thru -- no hooks! 🙂
