Augusta '09, Day 4: regardless of what was going on around, I thought watching these two go at it toe-to-toe was pretty awesome...

It's days like yesterday which make the 'rivallry' worthwhile...

it was a great watch and so entertaining! they kept bringing the best out of each other (eg. on 15 tiger knocking his about 15/20 ft away for eagle and phil knocking his to 5 ft)! and phils shot on 7 was just unbelievable!

It was an awesome day. I was so close to Tiger on one hole where he hit it left. I am thinking seven maybe. I was just outside the rope as he was walking toward his approach shot. Quite literally, we were side by side walking for about 50 yards with only about 3 feet separating us. I also saw his eagle on 8 and his approach to 1's green from "BFE" went somewhat slightly right over my head. It was an awesome day to say the least.

My bag:

Simply put: if Tiger Woods makes that eagle putt on 15, either he or Phil go on to win. Tiger was sure that putt was going to drop, and he couldn't believe that it drifted right. That got him out of his rhythm, and even the birdie on 16 wasn't enough to relieve his frustration, avoid trying too hard off the tee, and pushing those drives well right. Tiger's miss broke Phil's concentration and made him leave his eagle putt left, and then missed makeable birdie putts on 16 and 17.

If either or both of those two made it to the club house at 11 or 12-under, I think their presence on top of the scoreboard affects the way Cabrera, Perry, and Campbell finish their rounds. Basically, the pressure of keeping ahead of the top two players in the world in regulation gets to them, and all three of them fall back at the end.

In my UnderArmour Links stand bag...

Agreed.

It was as if Cabrera and Perry were merely bit-part actors in a major show - neither of them did anything but grind away par-after-par.

    • Day 313 - I played 18 today. First and last holes were ugly, but I actually played pretty well. Driver was great, irons were alright, and the short game was better than average.
    • Day 205 (23 Nov 24) - Worked with the alignment rod and 7i  in reference to ball position in relation to lead foot on full iron shots, noticed an increase in thinned shots last couple of rounds - better contact with the balls (hard foam) during the drill/swing rehearsals.
    • Have you gone to a fitting? A good fitting will not only give you a clubhead but a shaft, etc. that will suit you.
    • It's not like the Nike Vapor Pro are exactly a highly sought set of irons.
    • Last night I was putting my Nike Vapor Pro Irons back in my bag.  I had my sons i500’s in there the last couple months after we all went to Top Golf .  I picked up the Nike’s this past spring and they are like new.  I feel guilty using them… I have other irons that aren’t valuable that I could use instead.
