Did any body get a chance to watch the Bobby Jones - a stroke of genius on the golf channel tonight ?

I was unaware he was the only player to ever win a grand slam and was the founder of Augusta National & the Masters.. Pretty inspiring story...good flick.

If you have Netflix it is also available instantly to Xbox 360 or other device. It was a good movie... I watched it a few years back on a movie channel.

How have you missed the fact that Jones founded Augusta and the Masters OR that he was the first and debateably only person to achieve a grand slam? These are both common golf knowledge... you'd better start memorizing this stuff if you are ever going to call yourself a golfer... Just kidding... well, sort of. Next thing you know you'll be asking where the "home of golf" is, just like poor ole Boo.

I was out sick from work today and while nursing my fever I watched the whole thing. Pretty inspiring and overall fun flick to watch. And if you look hard enough you can catch stephanie sparks!

You do realize though that the grand slam then was US Am, US Open, British Am, British Open.

So in 2 of those victories, the field did not include professional players. Still incredibly impressive, but I am patiently waiting for someone to win the modern day grand slam. The Tiger Slam doesn't count to me.

seems like only recently that the Golf Channel has begun showing movies with golf themes. I like this trend. Hope they keep doing it.

      Day 159 1-19 Flow drill while attempting to add arch in wrist on downswing. Not where it needs to be but felt good working on swing flow.

      Day 1 (19 Jan 26) - after a week lay-off due to travels, felt great to get in some drills in the backyard today.  Started with lead arm only short pitches focused on squared face and light divot post ball.  Haven’t done this in a while and it showed, with some skulls and slices.  Settled into easy flighted balls - wrapped up with standard two handed swings.  Good restart to the daily drills.

      That depends what you do within those two.  Are they your only options?   Check out Fit for Golf if you get a moment.  It's linked on the sidebar;  I did it for two years, stopped for a really bad reason, and I plan to get back to it soon.   Mike Carroll also has a great free podcast about a lot of topics in golf fitness.

      Day 30 - 2026-01-19 Got 10 minutes in on the mat / net working on exagerrating movements I'm working on. And grip. Also worked with my friendly AI to summarize key negative tendencies I have so that I can build a personal checklist to follow. Will do more mirror work tonight.
