I'm ready to purchase a burner 5wood or a hybrid that will give me similar distance. I smash my burner 3wood and don't really like my nike 2 hybrid 18degree at all. If anyone could weigh in on what they think is a better idea that would would be great. Right now it is between a burner 5 or a Adams hybrid but I don't know which one I should get. What hybrid will give similar distance as a 5wood?
I have been paying for about a year and shoot in the high 90's most of the time. I've had some lessons and don't even tell people how long I've been playing when we're out there anymore, so they don't get bummed out.

I switched this year to the #2 hybrid and find it is easier to dig out of the rough. If I tee the ball real low it is great off the tee also.Yardage is about the same but the Hybrid is easier to turn over.

I carried a 5 wood in my bag for 20+ years and loved hitting it. BUT after struggling with it a few times, I got a 2H to try out. The hybrid is now my favorite club to hit. It is more versatile and much easier to square and hit than my 5 wood. It is great off the tee, tight lies, rough, even mud.

I play the Burner 5 wood (and driver, 3 wood), don't like hybrids, but that is just me. I tried several hybrids from Callaway, Mizuno, Cobra and just did not like them. I hit my 5 wood much better and consistently, I will be sticking with the 5 wood.

If you hit woods better than hybrids, then go for the 5 wood

that's the direction I'm leaning, thanks for the advice.

Gotta agree here, same history. I picked up a new 2H Bobby Jones off Ebay for a low price and I wouldn't go back; way too easy to hit out of more conditions then the 5w.

Agreed.

I got a little crazy a while back and had a 3w, 5w and 7w. I decided to drop the 5w and 7w for hybrid. Depending on the course or how I feel, I will use either my 2h or my 3h. Alot more versatile as Sherlockian stated and easier to work the ball for me.

does the 2h replace the 3w or the 5w? I don't hit the woods very well, i struggle with the driver but i hit my hybrid pretty well, so would a 2h but a good club to have in my bag to get some distance?

I am just in the same situation.

I have tried cleveland hi-bore hybrids and been told to get 22º(3H) and 5W19º(wood). Anyway, I have never felt well hitting woods from the fairway, so I am very biased to hybrids. Can you give me any advice on the lofts?

I`ve tought 22º + 16º hybrids, but they say 16º hybrid is too difficult to hit...
I've considered 22º + 19º but I don't know if they're too close...

maybe I shoud buy 19º hybrid and wait before how I play it before deciding another one to get...

you can see I am really confused ... help please

I went to look at a new 5 wood and hit a few, the pro gave me a few hybrids to try ... i found the Adams IDEAL 3 iron hybrid went further and was much more consistent than the 5 woods - also easier to hit out of rough. My favourite golf club of all time, and i only got it a few months ago!!!

A 5 wood and 2H are almost the same loft, usually. I'd get the 5 wood if I were you especially since you said you don't like your 2H.

I completely agree.....especially since the Burner shaft is made for getting the ball up quickly......I'd go with the Burner 5 Wood and never regret it.
