You know what would be really cool, if you could train a dog to chase after errant shots and get your ball out of the woods or the water. Just a thought.

I hit into a green with deer on it one morning, and when my partner and I arrived at the green we could see the dew mark from my ball that rolled 12 feet to a stop, then was rolled another 4 feet by the deer. We could see prints where one walked up to my ball and shoved it around. Pretty crazy!

I hit a ball on the green and a deer picked it up in his mouth. It would have taken it but we started yelling at it and it dropped it and ran pretty funny.

On our course we have tons but really nothing to do about it. Our greenskeeper just tells us to go after them with the carts. It's really FUN!

There are turkeys and a few deer a running along the fairways of a golf course I play every now and then. But it is in a natrual park, so they want you treating them with respect. There are even several signs that say "wait until animals leave fairway before teeing off."

Well for that particular part I meant my home course back in Hampton. Drake really doesn't call any course home but Waveland is definitely the closest at 5 minutes away. I HATE that course personally. We walk all the time for golf and that course is the biggest challenge I know of. The only reason I might like it a little bit is because it is home to my 2nd hole in one last year.

Well trained dogs on the course is OK by me. I enjoy all he wildlife that can beseen on golf courses.

I was staying at Furnace Creek Ranch and played 9-holes the evening I arrived before it got dark. I was the first out the next morning to play the other 9. On the second hole I looked down the fairway and wondered why there were dogs were out there. It then hit me they were coyotes not dogs. We do not have this problem in Michigan.

My local course has a "Boogie". It is the resident cat. His favorate sleeping place is on the counter were you have to pay. He don't care if he's in the way. Most of the customer don't care either.

I haven't been out on Waveland yet. I usually stick down towards Norwalk, though I played Grandview a few weeks back for the first time. And I about hit a goose teeing off on 18, it came off of the pond by the par 3 and about flew into my ball.

At my local course I saw something pretty awesome. I was walking to the range to warmup, when I saw a guy teeoff with his dog right next to him. The dog would sit about 5 feet away while the owner hit. After he hit, the dog took off after the ball. When it got to the ball, it circled it until his owner got up there (owner was in a cart). After the owner got up to his ball, the dog would sit and wait for him to hit again. I'm assuming this would be incredibly helpful for wayward shots.

I'm looking to get a dog in the near future, and I'm thinking of training him or her to do something like this. Obviously it would take a long time, but it would def be worth it

Anybody ever take their doggie on the course?

We're going to a resort in Fallbrook next week-end and bringing the dogs and hiking is always a part of our stay.

I'm wondering how bad it would be if we stopped by the condo on our way to the back 9 and picked em up.

This course is particularly quiet and I doubt we'd run across many people. We could tether them to the cart if and when we encounter people

Am I crazy?

    • Thanks for getting back. Much appreciated. So how is the distance compared to your previous club? Also, dispersion? In general, did you think it an upgrade?
    • dont worry i was hitting balls in my $20000 simulator room and figured it out anway
    • I believe @GolfLug ask me to post my thoughts on it, but this for anyone interested on an unbiased review. I got the 4 hybrid with a Tensie AV Blue 65g R flex shaft.  This club had one requirement. hit the ball 180 yards. 175-178 is all I can get out of it and I am fine with that.  It did not come with a wrench. Two things about that. One, I have a wrench, two, I have no need to make an adjustment. I thought about adjusting it to close to a 3 to get an extra yard or two, but really no need to. Hits off the fairway with no issue and I took a few whacks out of the rough and seems to do its job. Our rough is not that bad so for any thick stuff I dont know. Bottom line it works. It does its job for me without issue. One thing that so far has been good is that it doesn't bleed off to the right like my driving iron did. It had a gentle fade to it that I had to compensate for when I aimed. I hit this pretty straight so far. Not too high of a ball flight. The shaft is a "mid launch" shaft. I did not Mevo this. The only number I cared about was max distance. If I was all over the place with it I would have tinkered with it and had the Mevo out, but no need. I hit about 40 balls or so with it on the range and then played. I like it , I might get a 5 now. They are $249.00 at retailers everywhere. New models are coming I'm told so that's why they are on sale. Sorry for the lack of technical launch monitor data, the end result was what I was looking at and it did it right out of the gate.
