She could have petitioned the LPGA for an exception to thier age limit. I have feeling they would have granted it to her.

She did. It was denied.

I am no sports psychologist either, but there is something to learning the killer instinct. Ask Jack, Arnie, Tiger, and the rest of the legends and they will talk about that. (don't ask me to document the scource, I offer this only anecdotally). Why do teams with playoff experience do better? There is something to it.

Teams with playoff experience are used to pressure. Attempting to qualify for the U.S. Open was extreme pressure. Competing in women's majors - and playing in the final group - is pressure. She's learning how to handle pressure pretty well.

You're missing a big point: a 16-year old girl would have qualified for the U.S. Open if she could have putted only a little better than Stevie Wonder. She's obviously playing pretty well. After missing a spot in the U.S. Open she made the point "why travel 5000 miles from Hawaii to play in amateur events if I can travel just as far and be paid as a pro?" Makes sense to me. She'd won just about all there was to win in Hawaii and does have a national USGA title under her belt already. And yeah, she did petition the LPGA. Bivens denied her membership.

...Of course she could be happy just counting her money without ever winning anything.

Is that really what this disucssion is all about? Are you just mad, because she reached this wealth at 16 already? C'mon, get off her case already. That's what's wrong with this country - everybody has to control everybody else, politics, religion, sports, whatever.

What happend to old good-fashioned live and let live? I tell you one thing - if it was me in her shoes, with this talent - I'll tell the rest of the world to go f' them self and do whatever I want to do (ok, or whatever my parents wanted me to do ). For me that discussion is exhausted, you've your point of view, I've mine - and both of our opinions means crap to her anyway

I do agree there 110%. Whether or not some people like it and whether or not some people dislike it, it's really none of our damn business what she does with her time.

Then again, it's a whole lot more fun to be the media guy bashing her choices on occasion.

"I don't see a difference. I think we should cut the b.s. in raising our kids to "do the right thing". The older I'm getting the more I see it - if you're "nice" and "proper" - you'll end up screwed in 9 out of 10 times. Life is too short."

Doubtful. You may hear the story about the "life's too short" from one or two people. Tiger didn't finish his schooling, and it worked out for him. But, honestly, you'll never hear about the other thousand guys who dropped out just to become a mini-tour player with mini results. Life is short, but experience is damn better than being a failed Tour Pro.

You're still under the age of 22, right?
