I recently received a letter form the PGA Tour Preferred Partners Club, signed by Tom Lehman for a membership that will allow me to try golf equipment and keep them etc etc. Is this a scam or simply a way to get me to subscribe to their magazine? According to the letter I can cancel my membership of $1 per month any time and when I do, I will receive a refund of all dues previously paid. Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.

No, it's legit. But it's not like they send you all sorts of stuff. They may get a few of each club and they randomly select two or three of their thousands of members to receive it.

And some of the "equipment" are things like divot repair tools... Don't buy in for that. If you want to be a PGA Tour Partner, do it for the magazine, which back in 1995 or so, wasn't too bad.

thx eric.
i got burned on one of these "test our products" deals before and i don't want to make the same kind of mistake.

have you seen any copies of the magazine recently?
i subscribe to golf digest mainly for the tips/swing photos and stuff.
kindly let me know if you have heard or seen anything about the partner tour magazine.

thanks again

I joined a couple years ago and yeah so far the two best things have been the magazine and the gametrack system.

I've done two product test, the Maxfli Noodle when it was first introduced and a sunscreen that you wipe on (think baby wipes with suncreen on them)

You get discounts on rounds and other things and other little perks. The $1 dollar is just a trial period rate.

You can read more about the whole thing here

I joined the partner's club when it first started out.  I bought a lifetime membership, and for the first couple of years (because it WAS associated with the PGA tour) I received products for testing, a monthly magazine, bag tag, etc.  After the first couple of years, the magazine delivery became erratic at best, and then stopped coming altogether.  Then I weas informed that the PGA tour discontinued their association with the partner's club.  I have not received anything from them in years, and I am very disappointed and upset that I shelled out so much money and have no contact from them whatsoever. I would think hard about joining this organization...I just wish I would have had more info on this club before I invested so much money for a lifetime membership.

Just now, LWayne Lippincott said:

Does anyone know of a way to obtain golf scores posted on pga tour partners website?

I would like to archive my lifetime scores but had posted many on this site from 1998-2005

Thanks for help

Pretty sure you're gonna be crap out of luck. Even the Internet Archive won't be able to help you since the data you seek would have been behind a login.

    • Day 150 - Some pitching work, with a focus on closing the club face.
    • Day 1, again:  hit a few balls into the net this morning to make sure my shoulder would be ok and I could keep my tee time.  Chiro and athletic massages have helped my shoulder quite a bit.  Played my third 9 hole round and shaved off another 3 strokes (10 since my first game).  Son and hubby played terribly today and I was only 4 over hubby and 1 over my son (they blamed it on the 101 degree heat).
    • Yeah I was equally surprised at both how much it had reverted but then how quickly it came back.  I know it's not fully "fixed", but I now know how much I need to stay on top of it to keep it from reverting back that badly again.
    • Shot a lousy 53 on 9 holes. Took 4 drops on the 1st 4 holes.  Two drops on a single hole! 🤬 Did get my game back for the last 4 holes of it could have been worse. one highlight was #8 Par-3 playing @ 190 to the center with a back pin. I chose to play my 5 which I consider my 190 club and I crushed it 205 and was on the top tier pin high.  2 putt for par and won closest to pin on that hole. i could be wrong but I feel like I am taking my eye off the ball prior to contact and that is hurting me.
    • Day 579, June 4, 2024 Practiced on the Quad for a bit. Adding a little of the "push hard with the left side" stuff to help the lie angle at impact numbers. Doing this in early 2020 strained something in my left side, I was doing it so aggressively, so it's not new.
