If price is an issue...I got my Scotty on ebay for less than half of retail, it was a store demo, it was mint except for a little discoloration on the grip.

I know its a lot of money for just one club, but look at it this way: You spend $200+ on a driver that you will get rid of in a few years. You might end up keeping your putter for 10+ years. So, in my eyes it's a sound "investment." Plus your confidence on the green seems to be increasing = less strokes on the green.

I think if I had a Scotty, I might never buy another putter for the rest of my life. Tiger has had the EXACT SAME one since before 97 if I recall correctly.

Agreed. My X2 is the oldest club in my bag. And I demo'd the Newport 2.6 about two months ago btw. Without a doubt the best blade I have ever putted with. But yet another good thing about Cameron putters in general is they hold their value better than any other golf club there is, so even if you do decide to switch, it won't be too much of a loss monetarily speaking.

You don't. He won the 1997 Masters with a Cameron TeI3. Now he's got a pretty standard Newport (for the other 13 of his majors).
