Is anyone taking advantage of the PGA's free ten minute lesson in the month of May?

I have been thinking about it. I thought it is a free 30 Minute Lesson Though.

I encourage everyone to take advantage of this. Use it as an excuse to find a teacher you want to work with. Try two or three or four different teachers to find one you like, then sign up for a few more lessons spaced throughout the year or something.

Let's face it - it's not only good for you (free lessons), it's marketing for them.

That would be the only reason to take advange of a free 10 minute lesson. It's not like you're going to get a lot of good feedback or any real analysis in 10 minutes.

If you're considering taking lessons in the first place, this would be a great starting point.

I e-mailed the head pro at Pipestone about it a couple of days ago but he hasn't e-mailed me back. I've been wanting to take some lessons from him anyway. If he thinks he can avoid me until May is over he's dreaming.

He has to be on the list as one of the pros giving the free lessons. Is he?

He is on the list. You might also try the pro at Yankee Trace.

He e-mailed me this morning (wonder if he lurks on this forum). Told me to call him next week and he'll schedule me in. I've been taking lessons at Golf Galaxy and they've helped me a great deal but Terry isn't on the list. He'd probably give me a free lesson anyway if I ask him but I've been wanting to take some lessons from Sean at Pipestone because I play there a lot and he's also the pro at Mound where I'm a member. I've heard he's a really good teacher. After the free lesson I'll probably sign up for more. I'm a big believer in lessons.

Glad that he got back to you. Let me know how it goes. They have pretty good instructors at Rollandia from what I understand. I am going to get my kids out there this summer to take lessons from someone they might actually listen to.

I got my free lesson yesterday and asked the pro a question about my setup and grip. I'm coming off a back injury so I really want to make sure I'm fundamentally sound at address. All in all, it was pretty cool. Technically, it was my very first lesson ever, and it's definitely something I'll have to look into seriously at some point in the future.

I recommend everyone take advantage of this month's free lesson. There are three other pros at this place I go to, so my plan is to find them and get myself three more free ones! I'm going to ask them all the same question and see where their answers differ.

Took my free lesson on Thursday afternoon. I hit three unimpressive shots (top, push, skull) with my seven iron. She told me to widen my stance, and voila. I started hitting solid with a slight fade. Amazing what can happen in 10 minutes.

I decided today that i am going to take a few lessons. I read and practice a lot but something is not clicking. I am very inconstant with my Driver and my irons even thought i am getting better with them could use some improvements.

Haha, that's funny. I was told the same thing, also using a 7-iron.
