Bad range good round.

First time out in well over a week since I'm in the mid-atlantic (aka Seattle East with the non-stop rain we been having). Anyway.....got out after work and hit the range first. Couldn't hit anything. No really.....ANYTHING. Shanks, thins, fats, tops. It was about as awful a range session as I've ever had. Our head pro was out there at the time and was just shaking his head. I almost packed it in and went home, but since it's supposed to rain again tomorrow I decided to get 9 in. Even par (5 pars, 2 birdies 2 bogeys), with only one really bad swing the whole 9. Easily the best 9 I've had so far this spring. Anyone else ever have that happen where you have an awful warm up and then play lights out?

Absolutely and unfortunately good range/ bad round also. As perplexing as it is I'll take bad range/good round anyday (low expectations and good results). Good range/bad round is very demoralizing. You come off the practice range thinking I'm just going to kill it and the next thing you know you're in a slow motion car wreck. Gotta love this game. Cheers

For me it usually everything seems to be working well on the range, then it goes to hell on the course. Only once did it go the other way and I shot 90. Wish that it would happen more often.
