I hit a sw 150 yards sometimes...

Exactly if I hit a 150yd SW - but the ball would never be more than 10ft off the ground.

I was watching a show from the Golf Channel earlier (Teeing up with Tiger)

He stated that he hits his SW 118 yards.

also ..the touch shots for people like me that hit a 60 110-120(always flat or downhill on approach) is simply a matter of backswing, 3/4 back and im looking at 50 yards on a duff and 70yards when i hit pure.( hit this shot 50x a month in my back yard)

The half swing I will tend to turn face out (since i deloft a little) but back swing will be half back-3/4 ...this is for anything 40-60, ball will be hit nearly as hard, but the face turned out will give me cushion. JUST AIM LEFT of TARGET!

Anything under 30 yards and I will take a putting stroke with a 8i to a 60, depending on bunkers around the green and pin placement, amount of green to work with.

SICKEST with my 60 was a 3rd strok uphill on a monster par 5. I was in grass at the edge of a fairway bunker, the night dew would have made the ball roll down into sand if I left it there, it was being held from falling by a few blades of grass. The ball was a good 20 inches above my feet. left foot was on rough, right foot was 2 feet below in sand. I was 180 yds out still ...going up a 2- 3 club hill. The only club I had to use was 60 since shaft is the shortest. I gave it the strongest possible swing i could and hit it pure. It went nearly straight up and plugged the green. There may have been some helpful wind..but nothing huge. Im so good now I dont land in fairway bunkers. :)

FYI my 60* is bent and was recently replaced. It was a DICKS ACUITY POS MODEL. The head is fine but the shaft is bent at hozel& coming out slowly.

There are plenty of amateurs who hit it farther than the long pros, such as Tiger.

Thing is, Tiger hits his 118 comfortably - he gets that exact distance time and again. He's hitting at maybe 80% on his hardest sand wedge shot. The amateurs who hit it well past the pros go all out on every shot. The pros could all gain a good 20 yards on each club, but they'd lose control. And really, when you hit your SW 118 yards, it's not like you're going to gain by an extra 20 yards/club at that point. It looks great when it works, but on the days it's off, you don't know where it's going.
