I have searched the threads on the subject and have not found a specific discussion on the topic. I apologize if I overlooked something and this is a repeat

I have bad distance vision and presbyopia (need reading glasses.) On top of that one eye is worse than the other for distance. Would like to have sunglassses made for golf (and other outdoor activities) but not sure how to approach this. Due to the vision isues the lenses can't have a significant curve. I ordered Adidas with an insert. Would have been fine, except that the insert is so small (the insert has a progressive lens) that to be able to look at the ball when putting you have to put your head way down.
Sunglasses with a larger insert would work fine, if available.

Anyone had to deal with unusual prescriptions?
Thanks

I got sunglass frames and had prescription lenses put in. Also got the anti-glare and the automatic tinting. They work excellently for golf.

I have a pair of Tifosi Forza prescription lenses with the golf & tennis tint. They enhance the contrast of greens and blues and make it easier to see the break in the green and the ball in flight.

They weren't cheap, around $250 if I remember correctly but they have been one of the best purchases I've ever made. I also wear them when I'm riding my bike.

Most good sports sunglass brands will offer some sort of prescription program. I downloaded a pdf form from the Tifosi web site and sent my prescription to them. They told me what frames they could fit my prescription to and what the cost would be. They use Carl Zeiss Vision labs for their prescriptions and they have been quite excellent.

I have prescription suglasses, I wear them so much that any effect they may have on my game is negligable. That and my game sucks, so they could be screwing me up big time! But yesterday one of the screws popped out and now i'm unable to wear them. I need a big magnet to search my car for the tiny black screw!

I use prescription trifocal sunglasses here in Houston. When I start my backswing, I view the ball through the middle lens which is the trifocal lens. Then I have trained myself (most of the time) to keep the ball in the trifocal during the entire swing. This helps me keep my head from moving too much, because the ball will go fuzzzy on me if I move too much. As I say, this works most of the time, but sometimes I forget and lift the head which is usually disastrous for more than one reason.

    • It’s possible the graphite shaft has a small internal crack or a delamination. Tapping it and hearing a vibrating sound is usually a sign the shaft isn’t behaving as it should. Since the store wasn’t helpful, consider taking it to a club fitter or a pro shop that can check the shaft flex and integrity. If it’s defective, you might be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer.
    • It’s interesting how much a 3D system changes your understanding. Observing top players in full detail and realizing the trail knee shouldn’t fully extend is a great example of why being open to new info is so important. I like your approach: not trying to be “right,” but trying to teach correctly based on actual evidence. Makes sense why golfers would benefit from this perspective.
    • I would say both are equally not the best for golf. Is it better than nothing, sure.  Golf is an athletic motion. Professional golfers are doing a comprehensive workout routine focusing on strength, power, flexibility, stability. They might include some yoga into the routine. I would put both of them in the recovery bin, not golf enhancement bin.  If you want to increase swing speed, core strength, longevity in golf and life, then lift heavy weights.
