How can 2 rounds be so different?

I received 2 free rounds, cart included at Breckenridge Golf Club in Breckenridge Co. this last weekend. All I had to do was say no to the "Time Share" salesman...

I played on Saturday and had a good driving and putting day but could not hit an iron or fairway metal to save my life. I did not know from one swing to another or one iron to another if I was going to top the ball or dig 4 inches beneath it.

Then yesterday my driving was a little off on the front 9 and my putting was not as good as the day before, but still not too bad. But my iron play was vastly improved. Although I am not that good of a ball striker, most shots were nice and crisp even getting par on 3 holes in a row on the back 9, a par 3, 4 and a 5.

Thats just golf. All the aspects of your game will never work good all at the same time. This is the case even amoung the pro's. It just happens to a different degree with them.

I guess a good thing about it was on both rounds my wife rode along and I was able to convince her that even though I just bought custom clubs for 2K, now I need some lessons. Although I may need lessons on how not to cuss so much after the golf lessons.

My wife rode with me once. Since she has only seen the pros on TV to relate to, she told me after the round, "Man you suck!"

I took her to golf clap for me and she got really bored, she ended up walking through the rough and found 123 golf balls, at least 2 dozen of the pro v's. Barry

That is just golf. Maybe you were really focused more on your irons the second day since they were the problem the day before..and maybe you let you focus down a little on the other aspects because of this. I have this problem sometimes.

The wierd thing is you can have the worst day of ball striking one day and shoot a score. The next day your ball striking can be amazingly better and still shoot the same score.
