Thick iron soles vs. Thin?

Hey guys, is there a difference between thin and thick iron soles? Does it matter?

In the bag:

Driver: R9 460
Fairway Woods:FT 3 Wood, Burner 5 Wood

It depends on the type of hitter you are. If you tend to dig a lot then a thin sole would just dig straight into the ground leaving you with chunks or fat shots. The wider sole aids in gliding or skipping through the turf.

Wider soles:
- Greater resistance to "digging"
- Lower center of gravity -> Higher ball flight

Narrow soles:
- Less Resistance to "digging"
- Higher center of gravity -> Lower ball flight
