I tested the Cameron Kombi and a Bettinardi BC but I ended up going for an Odyssey Sabertooth. The Kombi felt a lot better and the BC and it seemed to be more forgiving. I saw myself drain a lot more putts with the Kombi and the alignment marks helped a lot. I went for the Sabertooth because it was a lot cheaper than the Cameron.

See, now that I can respect. You actually tried the manufacturer's putters in question, stated a preference and then indicated you went in another direction because of price. Anyone could understand and appreciate that.

You answered the OP question, instead of just staing "Scotty's are overrated" or "I don't buy into the Cameron mystique". My only suggestion would be if you find a Cameron you like buy it used on EBAY. You will not be disappointed, that's how I got started with Scottys.

that's what's weird about scotty users... they never have just one, or if they just have one they want more. Scotty owners are like classic car collectors... they just like looking at their shiney toy rather than use it. Me, I drive what is cheap and gets me from A to B the best...

I am joking here... no one get offended... but, I do think it is interesting how so many scotty owners have collections of them.

It feels good and it makes putts. What other criteria would you need?

Tiger Woods and every other pro that uses a scotty ;)

A quote from Kris
...is that college bball really isn't "lower tier". The better teams have their rosters filled with guys who could play in the NBA. hell, guys used to come straight from high school to the NBA. I really don't think there's much of a difference skill-wise between the two.

I'm finally taking a stance. I own both, I love both, and I choose Bettinardi on value alone. Whether or not that will still be true now that he and Mizuno parted ways and he'll be selling putters solely under the Bettinardi name, I don't know. He may decide to sell them for the same price as SC, and hope to build his own loyal following.

Personally, I don't see a big enough difference between the 2 to pay the extra money just to have the name Scotty Cameron on my putter.

That said, I do really like both and it is only on the basis of someone who is usually flat broke that I make the distinction that the overall value (provided you don't plan on selling your putter in the future) of Bettinardi is superior to Scotty Cameron putters.
