How many golfer really make solid contact with the ball and the putter face?

I play with a Scotty Cameron Newport 2 and you can tell the difference from a solid strike and a miss hit putt by the feel and sound of the ball comming off the putter face.

I also play a Yonex ADX blade putter and the sweet spot is the size of a dime and the club will tell you on miss hit and the solid contact is very soft feel.

One key to making solid contact I discovered is keeping the putter face low to the ground on the back stroke, almost to the point of pressing down on the ground on your backstroke.

I've been struggling with making solid contact with my putter this season. Many putts coming up short due to mishits. I think this is another reason why some of those 2-ball putters are great for higher handicaps since the loss in distance is less on mishits.

I mishit my putter way too much on long putts, but that's because I don't practice my lag putting nearly as much as I should. My home course greens you don't get a putt over 20-25 feet so I never get the practice on those. Inside 15 feet I never mishit a putt, that's pretty pathetic to mishit a putt inside that distance, you really shouldn't.

Best advice if you are: Don't watch your putts go towards the hole. KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN for at least 3 seconds after contact.
