After taking 3.5 years off (not that I was good to begin with) I'm getting back to where I was.

I played 9 holes and shaved 11 strokes off of my previous 9-hole score. The score was still horrible (60 on a par 32) but I'm just happy to see an improvement.

I'm in the same boat. Played a lot back when I was really young, some in my late teens and early 20's and then only 2-3 times a year for the last 5 years or so. Just now getting back into it and working on my game. I've been in the upper 40's to mid-50's lately (mostly mid-50's) but it's getting better all the time.

Slow and steady improvement is something you can hang on to. Playing lights out/way better than you have is usually something pretty fleeting (a lot of fun but usually doesn't last long.) Remember that there are a bunch of peaks and valleys between here and there. Good luck
