Hey guys I'm 14, almost 15. I'm about 5'10" if that means anything. I would love to buy myself the Nike Sumo iron set. They seem to be a really great set of irons. I've really been needing a new set of clubs so I figured I would buy a nice set of irons and then slowly buy new woods because the woods I currently have aren't bad. So what I'm needing to know is, do you recommend these clubs? And should they fit me? On golfsmith I found a full set of Nike Sumo irons for 400 dollars. They are graphite shafts. Also, what clubs will I be getting in a full set of irons? I'm assuming 4-9, and a PW and a SW? Thanks!

My uneducatied and uninformed reply would be not to get graphite shafts in your iorns when you are young. I think your swing will change too quickly and graphite can be finicky.

graphite in irons is a no no IMO.

in that price range you cant beat the TaylormadeR7's, go some place hit the sumos, hit some other clubs.

The sumos set up very odd behind the ball, I think. But they are maximum game improvement irons. so depending on your skill level is how I would make my judgement.

yea i would definitely go for the steel shafts. before you look for deals online go to a pro shop and try out as many irons in your price range as possible so you get the ones that feel the best.
In the bag:
983k 9.5° YS-6 graphite shaft driver
F Speed LD Mens 3 Wood 15.5° Graphite Design Tour AD YS Stiff
2H 18° Baffler Pro with Fukijura Speeder Stiff Graphite Shaft
3H 20° Baffler Pro DCi irons 4-PW + S Rosa putter

There are many reasons for me.

They don't transmit feel as well as steel. I like clubs with a lot of feel, so I know when I did something wrong. I think they make (my) errors more exaggerated, if I hit one on the toe it seems to push more right than a steel. flex points are different, I have a steep attacking down swing I do this to create spin, when I do this with graphite i top the ball. As far as wear and tear, steel and graphite are about the same. I just dont like the stuff. Ill save it for my driver and my fishing polls.

the set is 4-9 pw,aw and no graphite shafts graphite tends to help put the ball in the air,but with super game improvement irons if your any good you would baloon shots.

I can't hit worth a darn with my 3 wood, but i do tee up with it. And i love my 5 wood. So a 3 wood and 5 wood. And obviously a driver.
