really its ridiculous, we have that many lodges and a couple of them may have 4 people in them that are "active" we really need to consolidate our lodges and make 2-3. The grand lodge is also just down the street from us, plus we have Scottish rite and york rite, and shriners for technically more like 11-12 separate lodges.

..went as far as 14* York Rite.... then I quit. for several reasons, really. one reason was this: keeping secrets from your spouse is never ok, for any reason. it underminds the very foundation of what a marriage is, by Gods' standards.and that is the way I saw it. you must live with your own interpretations of what He meant..2 becoming 1. it always bothered me,and it DID bother me but I went along to get along( I was wrong for that,IMO) .... until:
...the deciding factor to leave:
I was also in line to be the 1st Master whos' Father and Grandfather were PMs, and were alive and present when the night of stepping up was to occur( dad- 32*/ Granddad- 14*). but because of clique politics w/i the place, they decided to keep the officers where they were for at least another year.
some there did NOT want my dad to be part of that history, for whatever reason..I'm guessing county politics, as my Dad was an elected official. but it effectively crushed my GrandDads' spirit as well. I still have his 1st Masons' ring that was given him in 1923.....so much for decades of loyalty, huh.
that was wrong, and had NEVER been done before in that lodge..ever. all because the friend of a PM wouldn't attend meetings(in which he was Jr Warden), not because of work, but because he had other interests....my Grandfather died 2 months later... and he was the co- influence that led me there... make no mistake, this was all calculated prior to any meeting thriough un-ethical means, behind many members' backs....that was the last straw.. I didn't need to be associated with any fraternity who blindedly, and sheepishly allowed such actions.... oh yeah, BTW, the one most underhanded... he was GRAND MASTER at the time...
Brothers? get real... tell that to those who haven't seen the other side of that fraternity, where many will blindly follw w/o questioning whats' directly against the "rules".... I did, and would not receive even an honorable explanation, I was told about the "secret" meeting by a life-long friend who was in attendance, but kept his mouth shut ... until he told me weeks later( for which he was scared to death that THEY would find out).... noone here can tell ME anything about Freemasonry... been there, done that. and I didn't get it from a library....

Sounds like you had some pretty shady people. I'm glad no one around here takes it that seriously. York rite is goofy anyways ;)

    • Day 133: did a stack session.
    • You can pre-order an R50 here for pretty rapid shipping (these are back-ordered almost everywhere): https://www.playbetter.com/products/garmin-approach-r50-golf-launch-monitor-simulator?ghref=2301%3A700794. This is an affiliate purchase, and I'm willing to kick back lifetime ad-free Supporter membership here on TST or a 90-minute GEARS session for the cost of a regular member lesson (about 1/3 the cost). Also, I'll record a video myself soon when I get an R50.
    • Day 58 - 2024-11-27 Some quick 90-yard shots on a particular hole… before a lesson and testing out multiple Foresight Launch Monitors on GSPro.
    • Day 209 (27 Nov 24) - Easy session with the LW - short pitches replicating greens side up and downs. Finished up with the 7i and hard foam balls - making 1/2 to 3/4 swings with deliberately slowed tempo…from varied lies.
    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
