The executive course I belong to I typically carry under 8 clubs. It's got 1 par 4 at 330ish yards, everything else is Par 3 under 180. I forgot my walking bag one day and carried out 7i, 50*, and putter with 3 balls in my pocket. The guy I got paired with told me I was supposed to have my own bag but said he wouldn't tell because I seemed nice... By the end of the round, I shot 6 over while he was +15, he was asking me for any tip I could think of lol. The guy had a cart, full leather cart bag and took 5+ practice swings on each shot. I walk this place in under an hour usually, we were out over two. My parting tip was "get out of your own head and have fun". The guy laughed and we hung out in the shop for 30 minutes and had dinner.

Sometimes I even leave all woods, hybrids, driver out of the bag and carry only irons, wedges, and a putter and tee of from a closer tee box.

In all honesty and in my opinion, none of us that are over a 10 HC should be making the course more challenging, especially on purpose. The course proves to be challenging enough, even on my best days, and I've fluctuated from an 8 to a 10.
