hey whats up guys. my name is Buddy. I'm from Paradise, Tx. Its about 35 minutes northwest of the D/FW metroplex. im a student at the University of North Texas. gonna be a teacher/coach.

started playing golf when i was about 6. never did really focus completely on it though as i had too many other sports going on, mainly football. in high school i always played great early in the season and seemed to choke in our district championship. so i never advance anywhere. for a while i have just been playing to have fun with my buddies and drink and bet a little with them. but now im wanting to really focus on the game basically for the first time ever and hope to get very competitive with it. my problem has never been the skill cuz i believe i have that. but more the mental side and consistency.

anyway thats a little about me. hope to get to know you guys and talk about this great game we play.

welcome... i think you'll find there are quite a few of us here in the metroplex. which courses do you normally play?

the majority of my playing is done out here at bridgeport cc. just a little 9 hole that my dad has been a member at for about 8 years and i know everybody out there and they still let me come out and play for free on the family membership. last couple of weeks i made the trip up to winstar. pretty much fell in love with that course. its very well kept and in great shape. dont get too many chances to play nice courses since im just a poor college student.

you should play cedar crest sometime. it's about 10 min. south of downtown, so a bit of a drive for you, but probably no more than oklahoma. plus, they've got great twilight rates and the course is challenging.

cool thanks. ill look into it

Yet another new guy from Texas, here.

I'm a Native Texan who's only lived in Texas for about 9/35th of my life.

Born in Richardson, stuck in Albuquerque, San Angelo for 3, currently San Antonio for two. Anyone come down south to play/visit/both?

I'm also new, and also from the metroplex, Allen to be specific. Do you guys have any suggestions for courses that are beginner friendly and not outrageously expensive? I work in Richardson, so anything in the northern part of the metroplex is perfect, Richardson, Plano, Allen, Frisco, Garland, etc.
