What's up? New Guy, names Dan from Pittsburgh, PA. I try to hit the links a couple of times a month but have been playing alot more lately. I spend too much of my time off from work on my motorcycle which cuts down on the golf time. Anyone in Pittsburgh here?

Hey Dan, welcome. I'm pretty new myself and so far I've found the forum to be great.

I'm going to be in Oakmont for the US Open next summer, any good recommendations of a place to get a round of golf in myself?

I usually play outside of the city around greensburg where i am orig. from. Cherry Creek in Youngwood is the course I play the most. In the city I play Schenley Park but frankly the course sucks, but its cheap to play and ya gotta walk, the excersize is good for me.

There are alot of good courses north of the city, I play the ones mostly south and east of pittsburgh. It all depends where you are staying at, let me know where you are staying and i could find you something as close as possible.

    • Day 171: mirror work while watching tv. Working on cleaning up the backswing stuff.
    • Day 25: 1/4/2025 Mirror day. I did some good mirror work with a 7 iron. Once again focus here is on pushing the carpet away with my lead leg. Sort of like I'm sitting in a office chair and want to scoot across the room.  Later, I used the putting mirror on the putting mat. Rolling 8 footers down a straight line on the mat.
    • Day 96 - 2025-01-04 Fighting it. Keeping my streak alive, but not by a lot. Got all of seven minutes or so in today. Maybe eight. 😛 Still backswing. Trip next week might be interesting, ha ha. Not gonna worry about it.
    • What does this have to do with the topic?
    • The Top flite Gamer, designed by Callaway, was once an excellent budget ball and won many gold awards from Golf Digest. The original Gamer was a 3 piece ball with a urethane cover. The 2024 version is a 2 piece ball with a cheaper ionomer cover. The top ball below clearly shows the cheaper 2024 2 piece Gamer and the bottom is the 2021 3 piece Gamer.   DSG acquired the brand from Callaway and has systematically destroyed it.
