I assume it's personal preference but wanted to get feedback on best practices for club placement/management in my new bag.

I used to play an old Datrek with round opening and 15 or so individual pockets that was supposed to hold 1 club each... I would invariable get 2 or 3 stuck in each without looking and would have problems getting them out.

I got a new set of clubs that came with a Bag, the Nike XTREME Sport II Carry Bag (see stock photo below). The bag is Oval It had 8-way divider system.

Any tips on longer clubs (woods, etc) top or bottom... General club Management tips, etc. The bag feels really light compared to my old carry bag and I'm looking forward to trying it out (with the new clubs of course)

I'll walk some (mostly 9 holes) and I have a push cart for some rounds and I also drive cart for longer 18's.

In My Bag 2009;
DRIVER: SQ Sumo 5000 10.5°
WOODS: SQ2 15° 3 wood / Nike SQ2 21 #3H
IRONS: Victory Red Full Cavity 4-PW, 50° AW (Steel Shaft)
WEDGES: Victory Red Forged Wedge Black - 54°/12B and 58°/6BPUTTER: BC01 / Kia Ma Monte CarloBAG: Xtreme Sport II Stand/Carry BagSHOES:...

It's best to keep the longer clubs at the top, that way the irons don't rest against the longer shafts. Good luck with the new irons, I demoed the VR full cavity and they felt very nice, almost had a forged feel about them.

I have that same back except in Green in Black...

I keep my Driver + 3-wood towards the back and my wedges in the front and everything else fits in nicely in between. There's enough space so I can keep 2 Irons in each slot and I have my 5-wood, putter, hybrid in its own slot...

i have a different bag but what i like to do is put my driver and putter together, 3 and 5 wood together, 3h,4i,5i together 6i-8i together, 9i and pw together and my 56 and 52 together. basically i like keeping my woods/putter together at the top. irons/hybrids divided evenly in the middle and wedges at the bottom.

Saw an article in Golf Digest about club/bag management, some complicated issues there, but getting it right might save 3-5 strokes per round (18 holes).

That's how I usually put mine in my bag. Don't have a bag with quite as many pockets in it, but that's basically how I put mine together. If they aren't in the right order I definitely notice... and then have to put them in the correct order. haha

In my 14 Xtreme bag:

    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
