Do you need to be a sub 20 handicap to hit a good shot? Any good shot will impart backspin on the ball.

I think the point he's trying to make is that an 18 handicap will hit more quality shots than a 28. The fundamentals of the swing tend to be better for a bogey golfer, therefore have better chance of imparting desired spin on the ball.

I personally don't see to many shots with backspin, or too many quality golf shots, from people who usually shoot around or above 100. The frequency is much higher with a bogey golfer.

I went to the practice hole before playing last night and hit some pitches with various balls. There was a noticeable difference to me when it came to the ProV1 over NXT Tour, etc. I could get the ProV1 to check up and stop where the others rolled out, sometimes more, others less.
