This is a question that I am curious about. I couldn't find any related information on www.attnational.org .

Have anyone brought kids (less then 2 yrs old) to PGA tournaments? Can I? if I can, can I bring a stroller also?
Reason? My son is now bored to watch his daddy's swing.

I have a 6 month old and I cannot fathom trying to bring a child less than say 5 or 6 to a PGA tournament.

I would say that would probably be inappropriate.

an 18 month old WILL at some point during the day, either have a fit and cry, or will randomly shout a few times. If your kid messes up a tour player's swing, you've likely just cost that man somewhere between $5000 and $500,000. Young kids being into golf is awesome, but a pro golf tourney isn't the place for a kid that young.

Oh come on, an 18 month old is probably more mature and quieter than 25% of the adults that are there to yell "get in the hole" on a drive that is 20 yards off the fairway.

I wouldn't advise it. I once took an 8 year old and he was bored as could be and never really 'got it' when I told him the times he couldn't move or make noise. Ended up having to stay far away from the action. A baby would just be that much worse and at some point the baby will make a bunch of noise that you cannot control.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

But they yell that after the stroke, a kid could scream/cry whatever during the stroke.

A quote from Kris
...is that college bball really isn't "lower tier". The better teams have their rosters filled with guys who could play in the NBA. hell, guys used to come straight from high school to the NBA. I really don't think there's much of a difference skill-wise between the two.

My son is 17 months now and has been to Tiger's Chevron World Challenge and the Northern Trust Open. Yes, you can bring a stroller and as long as you stay back from the tee boxes you'll be fine. Make sure to bring "quiet toys" for them to play with and plenty of treats to keep them distracted. When we went to the NTO we found a spot near the fairway where guys were hitting their 2nd shots and played off to the side with the boy... probably the best part of the entire day. Remember, the golfers only come by and hit their ball once every 10 minutes or so and the golf swing takes all of 2 seconds... pretty easy to keep your child quiet for that amount of time.

You never know what you're gonna get with young kids. Could be a good day, could be a bad day.

Getting into a PGA event is kind of laborious, time consuming, and not cheap. Given that, I'd be hesitant to take a child that young to one knowing that it's completely possible that he could have an "off" day and we'd have to pull up stakes and leave.

Having said that, and to answer your question, I see plenty of young kids at tour events. FWIW, the parents tend to be more focused on the kids than the golf most of the time.

I wouldn't bring a young child to a golf tournament. It's not a children's event. You could certainly take a young child and make it work, but I think you and your wife would enjoy the day more having that time together. Your child would enjoy the day more staying with a grandparent or family friend who would spend that time focused on them. I guessing though that you don't have someone who can keep your child for the day, so I guess you'll all be going.

To quote the great musical cannon of the famed composers, Mastadon, here is my advice.

Did you bring your baby?
Babies don't watch this!
Take the seed outside. Leave it in the streets.

Run over it after the shooooooooow.

Maybe in behavior, but at least those guys wait until after the swing.

If a drunk idiot so much as snapped a picture while Tiger was stroking a putt or halfway through a driver swing, security would cart him off the course. I'm not sure they would treat the parent of a grumpy toddler any different.
