So I started out with a no name putter with just a solid head (no insert), and my putting was one of the best parts of my game. Then I bought this taylormade putter with an insert because it was on sale half price and I cant putt with it to save my life. I practiced and practiced with it and I have finally given up and sold it on ebay. Sooo, I am now looking for a good non insert putter for less than $100. Any suggestions? I would go back to my old one but i gave it away

Try the Ping karsten putters, they have no insert and are pretty good value too.

If I had an extra $80 lying around I'd go with Odyssey's Crimson 660.

the new Cleveland Classic series putters. #1 #2 and #3. awesome new putters with no inserts for $80 brand new.

This is the correct answer. Putted with the Mid-mallet style (middle one) and loved it. Didn't buy it that day because I had some other purchases and couldn't swing the extra, but I might pick it up this week or next. It seemed like a fairly long shaft, but I didn't check for a marking. Anyone know if CG putters typically come in shafts that are a little longer than other brands?

Either of the Karsten or the Clevelands putters will do you good. I don't putt well with the Karsten Anser 2 but that's due to me pulling most of my putts =/

If you can find one the Alien Tour Tutch I is nice for the price: CNC milled face, gorgeous deep charcoal finish, nice cord pistol type grip, attractive over the hosel shaft connection (not perfectly fit though), moderately heavy, ~$40 (or less).

Sets up and rolls the ball as good as anything I've ever held. Maybe better for slower greens though as it is pretty heavy and looks to have a good deal of loft at address (but bendable). Super solid but that is likely just a function of weight than anything else.

On the downside the decal on the back looks cheap and some of the grinding/finish work is less than perfect but from two feet away I can't see/detect any of the flaws (grind on the toe isn't perfectly seamlessly blended, chamfering on the back edges isn't perfectly uniform in width/depth, hosel to shaft connection isn't perfectly flush, etc). Don't get me wrong I'm talking about thousands of an inch deviation here but if you were paying $300 or more something you wouldn't want to see.
