So I just picked up a new set of TM R7s (4-PW,AW, got them for $300 new). I'm a pretty new golfer, but have always managed to hit irons at the range and I've played on some local courses about 10 years ago. So I'm going to be taking lessons as well.

I've seen many people suggest waiting on a driver and maybe picking up a 3/5W and maybe a hybrid. I'm most likely going to head to one of the super stores to try out a putter or two.

Any suggestions of where to fill the gaps for a budget. I do have a few local 9s to hit and get used to.

I've been looking at some of the Adams Tight Lies Woods and maybe some hybrids. I'm also looking at Ping G5i putter for $50.

Get a good sand wedge.

A good set of Driver/woods would be another good place to start. I just picked up a Mizuno F50 3 wood on ebay for $30 and its better than I could have ever dreamed.

my suggestion is to get a driver, 3 wood, and a hybrid, then go to your 4 iron. my driver is 10.5*, 3 wood is 15*, and my hybrid is 19*. then i get into my 4 iron which is 22* so its a pretty consistant loft differential between clubs. i actually dont use my driver that often at my home course. there arent that many long holes and i can get away with using a 3 wood or even my hybrid off the tee, but its still nice to have one to use when i really want to try to rip one.
