I've been looking at the older titleist blade irons, the 670's, 680's, 690mb's and 680's. How are these different? What are the pros and cons? And how outdated are these? Thanks!

That should get you a pretty good comparison of the different models. I had the 690.MB's a few years back and really liked them. I wish I would have bought the 670s to get a little lower ball flight but they came out after I already bought my 690's. Hope this helps.

They are all very good irons. The link that Hokie2k5 provided will give you some very good information. It's also worth doing some Google searches for old online reviews.

Another option would be the 695MB's. I have a set of these with S400's collecting dust in my garage that I use at the range from time to time. They are very good clubs, every bit as good as the ZM's that I play now.

The only way is to get lucky and find them used in a store. Otherwise you'd just have to take the information on the website and choose what's best for your swring type. (if you are a High ball hitter - 670/680, Low ball hitter - 690)

thanks. The only problem is that I don't know my ballflight. I'm using regular graphite shafts, so naturally the ball is going high, although not balloning. Ideally, I would like to get that lower. What are different about the irons that would make me choose one though? Thanks

I have a set of the 1984 tour models, and i know its not exactly the answer you are looking for, but i love hitting them. granted they are not my regular clubs I hit mp-37. I am sure the 670, 680, or 690 are a nice club.

I have used 690MB's, 695's, and my favorite, the 660's... You might try a place like 3balls.com or Callaway pre-owned... Not sure if they will let you demo but it's worth a try... Also clubfinders.com sells individual irons, you might be able to find something there to demo

great thanks. I'm thinking 670's, those are the one's I've heard the most about. If anyone finds some, please let me know. Thanks

I just got the 670's of ebay for $250 about a month ago and love them. I am just getting back into playing and am much more serious about my game than I ever was back in highschool. Going from graphite shafted no name CB's to the 670's has helped improve my ball striking due to the added concentration necessary to hit them. As well as the lower trajectory, I used to hit my old clubs to the moon.

Probably not a good sign, but my irons are some of the oldest ones on the website Hokie provided (Acushnet AC 108)

It's kind of disturbing knowing that my irons are 10 years older than I am
