Ok so in the middle of my swing reconstruction (with lessons) and I think i have the downswing and clubhead lag down pat... At least without the ball...

It feels sort of like the most effort and the most acceleration come at that last moment when the club head (always behind the wrists/hands) FINALLY arrives at the ball and seems to explode.

So it seems like

swoooooooossshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (top of backswing)

(start downswing) ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff[pow][slightly quicker ffffffffffff]

with the [pow] being the wrist "turn"---> the point where they say imagine the left wrist and wright wrist touches, etc...

So it seems as if the maximum effort occurs at this point....

is this correct?

When I hit it the ball doesn't seem to really go correct.(at least when i'm really conscious of it)...

My wrists seem sort of... weak... is this normal?

Am i correct in my visualization of a proper downswing/contact?

too technical. How can you hit a ball to a target if you are worried about what your wrists are doing? .... because the wrists do not control the swing, or club head, or anything. The wrists play a supporting roll in the swing. They follow the forearms. The club follows the wrists, that follow the forearms, that follow the chest. It is a sequence of movements that square the club at impact with power. The wrists square and release at impact because of the correct movements of other parts of the upper and lower body. If you rely on the wrist alone, there will never be any consistency.

My swing thoughts:

- Negative thinking hurts more than negative swinging.
- I let my swing balance me.
- Full extension back and through to the target. - I swing under not around my body. - My club must not twist in my swing. - Keep a soft left knee

    • So, it appears to me that everyone is bringing out some version of the zero-torque, or square to square, or torque balanced, putter.  What ever name you want to give it seems like everyone has one of these types of things in their line up now.  It reminds me of about 10 years ago, when everyone had to have a counter-balanced putter in their line-up.  Callaway Media | Videos, Podcasts, & Episodes | Golf Content The Official source for Callaway golf clubs, golf balls and gear.
