Regarding Tiger at the Cialis Western Open……………….

Well, anybody got any salt, pepper and Tabasco and I’ll start eating my words. At least I’ll make them edible.

Tiger did well, and he will probably do well at the Open.

This week we’ve got the John Deere Classic with Michelle Wie vying for a position. Will she make the cut? Odds are she doesn’t but sentiments are on her side.

Since you all know I like Notah, I’ll put up Notah against Wie in driving distance and give Wie 10.5 yards.

If Wie makes the cut, I like her chances of ending up in the top 50.

Another woman making news is Danica Patrick, thinking of going over to the NASCAR side of racing. Hmmmm, ain’t been a women in the Cup Series yet. The good ol boys ain’t gonna like this….

All Men Are Created Equal......Until They Play Golf

I'm trying to look past the John Deere Classic for the British Open next week. However, it always catches my attention whether I like it or not when Michelle Wie plays in a men's tournament. I can't say I cheer against her, but I can't say I want her to make the cut either. Yeah, that was confusing.

I would like to see Zach Johnson win this event and keep his good play going. I also want to see Camilo and Ryan Moore play well and contend. We need those two to be in the thick of things every week.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Agree w/ the last thread. Pulling for Camilo, JB Holmes, Bo Van Pelt, and Bubba Watson. Would like to see a big finish from one or two of these guys.

I will always follow Davis (SI had me pulling for him early in The Open) and Freddie (has been doing well in recent matches) and I will always follow Phil. How could you not?

Other than that, these younger guys catch my attention and I really enjoy watching them play. Some of them have some growing up to do in reguards to course management, but they will come around.

    • 70 today. The number looks good but, the course is a par 67 (5,110 yards, 64.3/115.). While the 70 took quite a few good shots to achieve, I am not counting that as shooting my age.
    • Played our town’s executive course this morning. Everything is closing but for now Huron Hills remains open. #13 is shaped like an upside down backwards L (dogleg left). Only 231 yard par 4. Dogleg has a tree guarding the corner and a sand bunker guards the green for those cutting the dogleg. Tiny green. About 10 years ago or more I would try to cut the dogleg. The hole is so short that even if one tangled with the tree or was bunkered, par was likely and birdie was still on the table. Now in my 70’s, I just hit it straight and try to wedge it close for birdie. Today I screwed up and pulled my drive. I wandered around a bit when my ball was not in the bunker. Finally located it on the approach to the green. Almost chipped in and tapped in the 2 inches for birdie. Best unintentional shot of the week. 😲

    • Why wouldn't it have? It's not like you were playing it as a 145yd par 5 and made a 2 or something.  Or not like it was playing 50yds to a temporary green or something either.
