Ok, so I'm 6'5" and looking for new irons.

I'm 15, so don't have lots of cash.

I like golf, learning to love it, and plan on doing it the rest of my life.

Anyway, I think the reason I dont do so well is in part because of the clubs I use, specificly the irons, considering they are probably 2" short. They are my dad's dunlop's. They're not bad, just short.

I'm looking at any new clubs under or at $400

Just need some advice on companys, used or new, if clones are ok, etc.

Anything would help!!! Thanks

I know I give this advice a lot on these forums, but when I first started I played with Taylor Made RAC OS2 irons. They helped a lot. They are about 3 years old now, so you can get them for cheap - they are perfect for just starting out.

Only problem for you is you're so damn tall, you're going to need to get fitted for sure because you will need longer shafts, now doubt about that.

Are you done growing? Have you talked to your Doctor about how tall he thinks you'll get? 6'5" at 15 years of age is pretty insane, considering most guys don't stop growing until about 18.

http://callawaygolfpreowned.com/

great site for pre-owned clubs, I'd recommend the X series (x-14 and up depending on how much money you want to spend).

Or maybe you should spend your time playing basketball :)

Check out some Hireko irons. You can get them customized to fit you for a very affordable price.

Yeah, they are pretty nice clubs - I was in a similar situation as you a few years ago, being 15, just starting out, not too much money to spend, etc. but with you being 6'5" make sure you get fitted because trying to play with something off the shelves is going to slow your progress.

I'd look at the Adams A3OS http://www.greatgolfdeals.com/adams-...hannelid=FROOG --the shafts are longer than standard--thus might be a good choice for you.
Considering that you are 6'5'', you should get fitted.

    • Sones’ fitting device has your eyes directly over the ball. I have seen very few putters have success this way. If they use a line on the ball they often think it’s pointed left of target at setup, if they are right-handed. People who line up 6” inside the ball usually have a putter that is too long and likely haven’t had any instruction. From Golf Digest 2/2010, Scotty Cameron: You don't want your eyes directly over the ball at address. That's a myth. It causes you to align your eyes to the left, and consequently you take the putter back to the outside. Most people stand too far from the ball, which is worse: You naturally look too far to the right, the clubhead is too upright and aimed to the left and you take the putter back to the inside. The perfect setup is one where your eyes are one inch inside the target line when you look down, below the tops of your eyebrows. Access Denied
