Try some Gold Bond cooling powder. That stuff is magical. Using cold water and constantly wiping your hands may feel good and work at the time, but wont last long. Wipe down your hands or wet them with cold water, but dry them after and rub some Gold Bond into your hands or forearms, whatever is sweating. It'll keep your skin cool and dry and may even give you a good grip on the club.

Dealing with the heat can become rather distracting but there are a few things I've picked up that really help me keep somewhat comfortable on the course. Along with the obvious like many cold bottles of water, getting in the shade when waiting between shots, I've found you'd be very surprised how much less you will sweat by pushing/pulling your bag. I prefer to carry my clubs, but the straps on my shoulders and bag on my back just don't allow me to cool off in between strokes. If I know I'm going to be feeling the heat on a round, I will also soak a medium sized towel and throw it in the freezer for the night. Just before I leave for the round I will throw the towel along with a small ice pack in a freezer style ziplock baggie and throw it inside my golf bag. At any time during the round I can take the frozen towel out and wrap it around my neck or press it on my face and almost within a minute I'm cooled right down. The best part is you can throw the towel back in the ziplock with the icepack and within a hole or 2, the towel is just about frozen solid again.

I use the stock tour velvet grips that come on most titleist clubs. I also bring along a sweat towel for me as well as a towel to wipe the grips.

I'd love to use one glove per round. However, I live in Austin, play during the summer, sweat a lot, and want to get better any way I can. That means more gloves or any other way to stay cool. Here you go:

    • Day 37: did my drill swings in the garage with foam balls for about 15 minutes. Working on getting my backswing more turned and then going from there. 
    • Thanks but honestly… I don't know any other way. I don't mind being wrong so long as I know where to go from there. I don't like being wrong — I'd love to get things right (which is different than "being right"). I recommend grabbing a furniture slider or a paper plate or something, and doing something like this: First, make a swing where you let your trail foot swing out as you turn, then twist that foot back in. From DL and FO, it'll look like this: Then, during a regular backswing, try to twist your foot in slightly (demonstrated in the left image): You'll notice a crease along the trail side of your hip, your pelvis will "fold" into that thigh (internal rotation of the hip joint), and your "bits" will be squished a little between your pelvis and your thigh. Ben Hogan said once: "At the top of the back swing the groin muscle on the inside of your rt [sic] leg near your right nut will tighten," Hogan wrote. "This subtle feeling of tightness there tells you that you have made the correct move back from the ball." I don't know about that, but you will probably feel something down around that area.
    • Yep. I think it will start to feel even more athletic when we start on the downswing stuff later.  I know, it's just I want to be younger so I have more time to enjoy the changes. 🙂 
    • I need to drop a couple of stone. 🙂 😛    Yep. Yeah, but in the end, it feels more athletic, like you're actually using your legs, yeah? As you know… we use the best available info we have. Like others, I was fooled a little by 2D images for awhile (moving or still). Unlike others, I've learned and grown and moved on since then, while they're still looking at their images (often from lousy camera angles).
