Question about shaft weight/stiffness.

I am hitting my irons to the right.. I just got them and I kind of had some reservations on buying them because they are the PX 6.5 flighted and I think I may have only need the 6.0's.

That being said I looked at the PX website and the only difference between the 6.0 and 6.5 is the weight. Which is a difference of 5grams (~.01 lbs).

Now... the main question.. Could that 5grams really be the reason the club face is not closing or do I have other problems?

As soon as I started hitting them right my mind went directly to stiffness, but now after I saw the difference was only 5grams in shaft weight I was wondering if it would really make that kind of difference?

Before you do anything too drastic, play with them some more. It could just be that if you were hitting a less stiff shaft before, you aren't quite used to how the new ones flex and load. It might be simple enough to adjust one small thing in your downswing (like turning your hands over a split second sooner) to fix the problem.

Last summer I went from the S-300 shaft to the X-100 shaft. It took some time before I was used to the extra stiffness. Once I figured it out, everything was as it should be. I didn't have to change anything about my swing, I just had to figure out the timing of my hands at the bottom to make the stiffer shaft work.
