I live near salem, illinois myself, you must around benton or west frankfort then if you live about 25 min north of carbondale. I have a friend who lives in herrin that I go down and play with on the weekends, we would usually go to crab orchard in carterville. Last time we went down to stone creek down south of carbondale, nice course and reasonable prices, $25 for 18 with a cart, its about 5 miles south of SIUC just off 51 near makanda. I have played at most of the courses in the area, hickory ridge in carbondale, franklin county country club in west frankfort once and several times at benton. Even played over at red hawk in pinckneyville, not a bad course either and its $18 for 18 holes with a cart on fridays.

Maybe we need an outing sometime for all the southern Illinois sand-trappers.

You are correct I live in Valier (sesser-valier school)I work in Benton.I am a member at the benton country club.I played several times at red hawk and rend lake.We played kokopelli in marion a couple of weeks ago and we went to the gambit in vienna last sat.Been to hickory ridge a few times.I hear Salem has a nice course?

Count me in sounds like it would be a good time.By the way I hear annbrier is a wonderful course

salem country club is pretty nice, though Id rather play at greenview country club in centralia, its nicer and a pretty tough course, i dont think theres a straight hole on it except for the par 3's, tight fairways but not overly long and on mondays its $15 for 18 with a cart though always very crowded that day, about half normal price. I play quite a bit at another course in centralia called meadow woods, greens are kinda rough and its only 9 holes like benton. On mondays and fridays, its $10 for 9 or $15 for 18(playing the same nine twice) and that includes a cart. meadow woods is ok, but its got a certain charm to it and never seems to have a lot of people there and i like that, probably because they're somewhere else. And sometimes i go to mt vernon and play at crooked creek and indian hills there and a couple times at green hills.

Hello from SOCAL. I would love to have your green fees! Here in OC it almost costs that much to hit a bucket of balls and unfortunately I am only slighlty exaggerating.

I played greenview once. I have played Green Hlls several times and I really like that course. We played Indian Hills for the first time about 3-weeks ago and I liked it.It was in pretty good shape not too bad,but at $18.00 for 18 holes and a cart on a saturday I would play there again.
