I really want to get a true Titleist fitting and try out some Titleist irons for my next set. Anyone know if there are any SureFit systems in TN? I see some in GA but the closest is Atlanta and that is like a 5 hour drive!! I would really like to find something closer.

Yeah, I was searching wrong the first time I went there. I did find that though and I tried to come back here and delete the post but I couldn't. Thanks for the reply.

I am going to get fitted for a driver and 3w shaft this Friday. I have never been fitted for my woods so they still have the off the shelf configuration. My question is, are there any shafts that I should look for or stay away from? I have never really looked at graphite shafts in the past.

I am also going to try out the new Titleist drivers and irons....I may walk away with a hole new setup!!

That's exactly what I just did, went nuts at golfsmith, and walked away with everything new, Titleist irons, driver, 3w, and hybrid.

Good luck, have fun shopping...

I hear you. I hope that I can control myself as I really don't need new irons, but we all know how that goes if you hit something that has a much better feel

I would definitely buy a new driver if that's the case. A whole new set of irons might be a different story.

Well, I went down and had them look at my 3w and driver and was told that "I would just leave them like they are." This surprised me because my 3w has a regular stock shaft in it and my swing speed was right at 100mph on average. I was sure he would tell me I needed a stiff shaft in it. He said that stock Mizuno stiff shaft was good in my driver too.

I guess I am happy that my clubs are good the way they are, but I was a bit let down for a lack of better words.

I did hit the new Titleist 909 driver. The D2 is what I hit and I was on average 15 yards farther and much straighter compared to my current driver. I did not buy it but I am seriously considering it!!

I hit the R9 460 as well and it was about 10 yards further than my current driver but I didn't really like the feel of it as much as the Titleist.

get the Titleist!!

I want it!! How do you like your D3? I was told that that the sweet spot on them are like the head of a pencil?

I like the smaller head of the 440 but the 460 hits very well. I think that is basically the only difference in the two. I will be getting the VooDoo shaft as well since I already hit it high. I ran out of time and didn't get a chance to hit the AP2s...which may be a good thing!! I am going back Friday if I decide to buy the driver. I may trade some old clubs in on it and go ahead and get it.

I really like the D3, I'm still getting used to it, I don't think the sweat spot is small, as when I hit it off center, it still goes pretty straight, much better than the 907D I had before.

lol.. if you hit the AP2's, you'll probably walk out with them!

Titleist discounts don't exist, I wish. I was trying to get golfsmith to give me a deal and they said they would get in trouble if they gave any deals.

They do. A friend of mine used to buy clubs through a Pro that he knew and could get them cheap. Someone somewhere can get them cheaper than we can He may have been buying his old clubs but I could have swore that he would tell the Pro what he was looking for and the Pro would get it for him at a discount.

Possibly...I do know that my buddy for sure got a brand new (not demo) driver through him and it was cheaper than new, so he had some kind of hookup. It even had the shaft that he wanted

Okay...I did it. My teacher said that I need to get rid of my Mizuno driver. We did a flex test on my stiff shaft today at my golf lesson and it tested out to be x-stiff. So, I traded my Mizuno in on a new Titleist 909D2 with the VooDoo stiff shaft. I can't wait to start working on my swing changes with the new driver!!
