Question on Shortening an Iron shaft..

I'm looking at this set at my local shop and they are Project X 6.0 shafts but they are +.5''

Can I just get these cut .5'' off to standard from the butt? or is it more complicated than that?

Apparently Project X updated their website.

On the old site's FAQ they addressed your question:

Basically. Cutting off shaft from the butt end doesn't change things overall other than make it shorter. Obviously you'll need a new grip. They went into more detail regarding how basically a few variables change like swingweight and the stiffness frequency and blah blah (dont quite remember).... but they conclude that basically it evens out in the end to normal.

Awesome thanks. I knew I would not be doing it from tip, but didn't know if cutting from the butt would change things, now that I think about I don't know why it would.
