I took 7 yrs off from playing golf. I never got a handicap before, but my average round was usually 100, + or - 5. I started playing again recently, and the first complete round I shot was for 89 (after several practice rounds), with my worst so far being 97. With the same old outdated equipment, I'm hitting the ball better than I ever did before, sinking some putts, and most importantly, keeping the ball in play. I keep waiting for the golf gods to strike me down, but until then I'm enjoying the game more than I ever did before.
